The main responsibilities for this post are:Ĭontribute to the building of a robust, accessible, flexible SQL database solution for multi-billion pound funding programmes – ensuring the data pipelines from a variety of sources are received to the quality required īuild flexible reports and run ad-hoc analysis to report on progress of buildings undergoing remediation work via government funding programmes, and put early warning systems in place to alert if progress is not as expected Ĭonduct deep dive analysis as required to answer new questions, particularly around evidence to make policy and operational decisions Ĭontribute to the department’s external reporting in the form of statistical releases. The division aims to respond rapidly to Secretary of State and Building Safety Programme steers and priorities, and projects will be prioritised based on those. The Building Safety Programme also has a future looking role to design a new building safety system and you’ll need to make sure our data and evidence are future-proof and fit for the purpose of the new regulator. The work of the division is fast-paced, as we provide a variety of evidence to our policy and operational colleagues working on current building safety issues including monitoring remediation of high-rise residential buildings. You’ll then use this evidence to work with policy and operational colleagues to design the best policies and processes in the area of building safety. There will be opportunities to add value and understanding to data using innovative data matching and data visualisation. You will build this important evidence base by scoping, processing, analysing and reporting on data being produced as part of a multi-billion pound funding scheme for remediating unsafe high-rise residential buildings. Your analysis and conclusions will be influential and shared frequently with Ministers and Directors. These roles are an exciting opportunity to build the extremely important evidence base of residential buildings by collaborating with other organisations and thinking innovatively about data visualisation. The role is based in a statistics team of c.15 statisticians, with a sister team of economists to shape high-rise residential building policy. The services we provide are always in high demand, including from senior officials, ministers, and their special advisers, both here and in other government departments (most notably Number 10, HM Treasury and the Cabinet Office) and are highly influential in shaping and designing policy.
The Directorate is made up of a number of multi-disciplinary teams responsible for delivering evidence across the range of core Departmental priorities, for example on levelling Up, housing, planning, local government finance and local economic growth. The statistics team works to improve the evidence base on these buildings and uses the evidence to develop policy solutions alongside our policy and operational colleagues.Īll analysts in DLUHC are based within Analysis and Data Directorate. This division specialises in data and analysis of building safety and performance, particularly high-rise residential buildings’ (fire) safety, quality and sustainability. The Safer and Greener Buildings Analysis division is a multi-disciplinary division of analysts. We need them to be both safe to inhabit and environmentally friendly, avoiding tragedies such as Grenfell Tower in 2017.
